Pisa

Today was a slow day. Since we didn't have a time limit for breakfast, we got up at 9am (late for us :D) and made our own breakfast with fresh espresso from a moka :)

We were taking our time, browsing the net and uploading videos of Lianne on Facebook when Na
th had the good idea to look at the weather forecast. It was supposed to be foggy today, nice tomorrow and some rain was expected at the end of the week. So we decided to do the museums on the rainy days (duh!) and go to Pisa today.

We hurried to the train station, hoping to catch the train that took only 1 hour to get there but, as we expected, missed it and took the next train, 20 minutes later, that took 1h20 to get to Pisa.

When we got there, we made a quick stop at the info center to get a map and then decided to go directly to the tower because you need to buy tickets to go to the top and it seems it's super busy. On the way, we bought food and I ate my 1st calzone (delicious). Nath got a ticket for 4h20pm so after we had finished eating, we had about 1h30 to kill. We took pictures of the tower, duomo and the baptistry.

Here's my version...

Love this picture :)

We asked a tourist to take a picture of all 3 of us with Nath's camera. We chilled on the grass, taking in the hot sun and breathing in the sea wind.

Then Nath went to to climb the tower, I didn't want to go. Climbing a straight tower is one thing, climbing a leaning one quite another. And kids under 8 aren't allowed anyway. I waited for Nath to get to the top to take a picture and then went back towards the train station to take pictures of other buildings we had seen when we hurried to go to the tower.

There was a flea-market throughout the old city which could have been cool but it just annoyed me because I couldn't get nice shots of some buildings with all the "tents" in front (see pictures).

When Nath and I met back, we hurried back to the train station to take the 1 hour train back to Firenze.

We got home, cooked a delicious supper and now Lianne is in her bed and we have the rest of the evening to relax.

Tomorrow we're visiting Firenze for real ;)
