Saturday the 14th was a slow day. Because we had gone to bed late we realllly took our time to get up. We left the hotel and went to see the Jacobin church or cathedral. Inside there's a column that looks like a palm tree. Really nice. The rest of the day we just roamed aimlessly, sitting on the banks of La Garonne and eventually walking alongside it and making our way to Olivier's for supper again.
We ate magret and I had the opportunity to taste an excellent Armagnac which is a brandy of a region close to Toulouse (I need to read up on the subject of brandy).
The next morning we left for Narbonne, stopping on the way to eat and also to take a picture of Carcassone from afar. Getting to the hotel was nice and easy and I was happy about it. We dropped our things and went to visit pretty much the only thing worth visiting. It's a huge and beautiful church and the fortifications next to it. We climbed the stairs of a 42m donjon and got a nice view of the city. We ale scouted the train station and where I had to bring the car the next morning because Hertz opened at 8am and the train was leaving at 8h21.
For supper we went to a really nice restaurant but Lianne was ultra fussy :/ Half the time one of us was trying to calm her while the other ate. Oh well.
We visited and ate lunch at a market next to the hotel before going to visit the rest of ToulouseOn the way to the churchThe back of the churchThe front of the churchThe palm-tree-ish inside of the churchOn our way to Narbonne, Carcassone on the horizonInside the cathedral of Saint-Just in NarbonneView from the Gilles Aycelin donjonThe Cathedral of Saint-JustThe Gilles Aycelin donjon
