Toulouse, the pink city

After my last post, we went to Yannick's place to eat some excellent "carbonnade flamande" and I drank some good Belgian beers. We didn't stay late because we were getting up at 5 am the next morning.
We got up at the said time and took a cab to the airport only to realize that the plane was leaving 1 hour later then I thought... I had planned our arrival based on the suggested arrival time. We could have slept an hour more :(

Everything went well on the plane.  Lianne is a natural traveler ;) At the airport we picked up the car we had rented. Or maybe I should call it what Nath called it: a mini mini-van.

I drove us to our hotel. We didn't have too much trouble finding it. That day it was rainy so after we checked in we went out for lunch (I had an excellent magret de canard), came back for a nap (at least the girls did, I browsed the net and played FFVII) and then went back out for supper (we had fresh local bio chicken).

Thursday we really visited the city. It was hot enough to walk around in our tshirts and we walked the city on a suggested path from the hotel, visiting landmarks but also taking the time to chill next to La Garonne and drinking a pastis Chez Tonton. As it was getting close to 5, I understood why it's called the pink city. I was also a great say to take pictures and I was very motivated.

I think it was the first day that I totally felt on vacation because I was in a totally new city, it was warm and sunny, I was with my girls and I had all the time in the world.
